Birdie Brigade Y’all


Summer is nearly upon us and brings with it plenty of fun, sun, and fruity drinks. While Memphis in May is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, June is when the real action takes place. And by action, we mean Memphis’ very own PGA TOUR event, the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

For the fourth year in a row, we are proud to work with the FedEx St. Jude Classic, a regular stop on the PGA TOUR since 1958.

This year, our promotional efforts included development of an integrated campaign with print, TV, digital, and radio ads. In addition, our PR team once again coordinated a street team, the Birdie Brigade, to promote the tournament at events around town and connect with fans through social media.

So far this spring, the street team has made appearances at the Fairway 5K, Overton Square Crawfish Festival, Memphis Brewfest, and a downtown pop-up. At these events, they engaged with the public and promoted the tournament by giving away FedEx St. Jude Classic swag – bracelets, beads, koozies, and sunglasses. A few lucky individuals even received free tournament tickets and memorabilia, including a pin flag signed by defending champ, Fabian Gomez.

Look for the Birdie Brigade at the Memphis Redbirds game this Friday night, where they’ll be handing out commemorative Hush Y’all and Loud Y’all paddles to the first 1,000 fans.

The tournament will take place June 6-12 at TPC Southwind. The fan-favorite Michelob Ultra Party Tent, located by the 12th green, is back again this year and will be open Saturday and Sunday of the tournament only. If exclusivity is more your speed, check out the newest hangout spot, the Island Club at the 11th green. The Island Club badge is good for Thursday-Sunday and includes complimentary soft drinks, water, and beer, as well as unlimited grounds admission and access into the TPC Southwind Clubhouse.
