2016 New Year’s Resolutions

Every January 1, we all make resolutions for the new year. Ranging from professional aspirations to fitness, these goals often require discipline and dedication to achieve. But once they are accomplished, the satisfaction of having done what we set out to do is a rewarding feeling.

For 2016, we made a few resolutions, too. Each year around this time, industry trend lists are released almost daily on websites, blogs, and via newsletters. Some may apply to you; some of them may not. Chances are, you’ll hear about at least one tool or trend that simply would not work for your business

As you will see below, we have come up with four that you can use no matter what your business is! So here are our thoughts on practical and easy to maintain resolutions for the year ahead:

Communicate. Between social media, email, websites, and plain old picking up the phone and calling, your clients expect you to be there for them. Make an effort to be more accessible this year. Whether it’s responding to a complaint quickly or simply checking in with a client with whom your company has a longstanding relationship, make an effort to always keep the lines of communication open (within reason, of course).

Learn. In our world of marketing, things seem to change on a daily basis. This year, make an effort to continue learning and growing. Sign up for a newsletter or two that you find interesting, subscribe to a podcast, find an industry blog you like, or bookmark a website you think has worthwhile content. Whatever medium you find most useful to you, use it! Continuing to stay up-to-date on industry trends and news will make you a valuable resource to both your company and your clients.

Try something new. We already know the importance of learning something new. Why not put a few things you’ll learn into practice? If you discover a new tool that may help you or your business, give it a shot. Think of a way to optimize something you’re doing currently and try it out. Whatever you learn, don’t be afraid to try something new merely because it hasn’t been done in the past.

Give. Here at inferno, giving back is at the core of who we are and what we do. Whether devoting time to an organization that matters to us or going above and beyond on a project to obtain the best results, you will always find infernites giving. So give a little more this year. Give your time, give your energy, or donate to a cause that is meaningful to you.

No matter what your resolutions are for the new year, inferno wishes you a happy, healthy and successful 2016.
